According to the Economic Development Council of Seattle & King County, Washington state has a fashion and apparel industry worth over $8.3 billion. The Apparel, Textiles and Merchandising program lies at the intersection of artistry and enterprise meeting the needs of the vibrant apparel industry in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Students learn the industry from sourcing to manufacturing, design, merchandising, marketing, and more. Course offerings explore fashion’s history, and look to the future with themes like sustainability, fashion trend analysis, and use of digital presentation techniques. Our undergraduates partner with faculty on research other institutions reserve for graduate students. A highlight of our program is the annual Spring Fashion Show, an open-to-the-public event that showcases months of hard work, both from student designers and the student production crew.
By donating to Apparel, Textiles and Merchandising you will help support students through funding field experiences, materials for the annual self-support fashion show, student awards, scholarships, and equipment used throughout the program.
To see our students work we welcome you to attend our 27th annual fashion show, Opulence on June 3rd at 3pm & 7pm in Milo Smith Theatre. Tickets www.cwu.edu/tickets/ and follow us on Instagram for program updates and more @cwu_atm
