"Undergraduate research has allowed me to learn and apply various laboratory skills that I will be able to actively use in graduate school, research or lab-related careers that I decide to pursue after college. Additionally, undergraduate research is furthering my ability to understand protocols and literature to give me a well-rounded appreciation for the field of science."
Aaron Valdez '23
"Undergraduate research has given me a great opportunity to grow as a scientist and has deepened my knowledge about the scientific process. Undergraduate research has expanded upon my laboratory skills, by allowing me to do techniques I have not been exposed to previously. Research has also taught me that progress is not always linear!"
Ricardo Mercado '23
"Undergraduate research has allowed me to make many friends. I also got to make connections with many faculty that have been crucial mentors both in the lab and outside the lab. These connections helped me land an internship at the Fred Hutch Cancer Center and helped me discover my passion for biomedical-focused research."
