The Farm is in an exciting growth period that offers the opportunity for increased student engagement and community service.
With your support, we can build a cold storage facility to properly store the 4,000lbs of produce harvested per season to include a shelter that would house facilities to wash and pack fresh produce and on-site cold storage facilities would be necessary.
Your gift will help us build a year-round, living classroom on the farm, with a 3-sided meeting room and extendable seasonal canopy available for students, staff and visitors to gather for meetings, workshops, classes, events, and shelter from inclement weather.
Supporting this project kickoff would support:
- Improved facilities and access to refrigeration, functional workspace & electricity make student projects and trials more accessible.
- A multi-functional space with moveable equipment would make the washroom an ideal place to host educational events, workshops, and presentations.
- Expanding programs that would give students experience working in a retail setting, managing a small business and serving customers.
- Provide opportunities to increase service-learning offerings and campus high-impact educational practices
- Using sustainably sourced and second-hand materials and equipment when possible
