The Early Childhood Family Engagement Playgroup fosters relationships between parents of young children, practices school readiness, and allows children the opportunity to improve their social skills with peers.
This unique experience welcomes children and families of all abilities creating access to thoughtful play curriculum. We also offer opportunities for developmental screening which may be otherwise inaccessible to some attendees.
Your gift to support the EDEC 322 Parent/Child Playgroup sessions will provide:
- One-day passes for parents so they can park nearby when attending
- Flyers and posters to promote the Playgroup sessions.
- Materials needed for take home packets for parents (usually dollar store items)
- Consumable items (examples: homemade play dough ingredients, sidewalk chalk, snacks, etc.)
- Children's books
Parents from last year's sessions said, "It's a great place to socialize your kids! My kid is an only child, and we live way out in the country. This play group is one of the only places that she gets to hang out with other littles" and "It’s invaluable in a community with little to offer in the way of children’s activities."
